Open Group Climb

$80
Saturday, August 22, 2026

A day focused on getting out, having fun and challenging yourself in a supportive group setting with great friends.

Guides will meet climbers in the parking lot (pre-determined via email) at 9am and lay out equipment for anyone who may need it to climb for the day. They will then collect waivers from all climbers. After introductions and some expectations for the day, everyone will hike up to the crag together and create a “base camp” for the day. Guides will provide a short lesson / review on tying in to the rope and belaying for anyone who needs it. From there, we’ll climb until the afternoon.

Anchors Clinic

$80
Saturday, August 22, 2026

A top rope anchors course with a focus on using natural features. A great introduction to top roping at Devil’s Lake and transitioning to operating independently.

Guides will meet climbers in the parking lot at 9am and lay out an “anchor kit” for every person to use for the day. From here, there will be a short intro of what will be covered during the day. A series of knots and material used to attach to natural features, principles of load distribution, potential hazards, and how to mitigate those hazards.

From here, the group will hike to a secluded location that is a friendly outdoor classroom space and break down the day into stages. Each step of the day will build on the previous one.

The day will be structured so that there will be no more than about 15 minutes of “lecture time” at once to allow students ample hands-on learning and individualized instruction during the clinic.

At the end of the day, students will be able to safely, confidently, and efficiently construct a Joshua Tree top rope anchor using natural features.

Open Group Climb & Anchor Review

$80
Sunday, August 23, 2026

This will be a great way to test some newly learned skills with supervision and for the whole group to get out and enjoy the day together.

Guides will meet the group in the parking lot at 9am. They will then split into two groups. Folks who will just be climbing will gear up and head to the bottom of the crag. Folks who will be constructing anchors will join guides and head to the top of the crag to build some of the anchors that the group will climb on for the day. We will enjoy an awesome day of climbing to end the weekend.
